Current Charitable Recipients

The CBA grants over $1.1 million to San Antonio Agencies in 2018

In 2018,  the Charity Ball Association and its generous supporters donated over $1 million to twenty-one San Antonio agencies. Funds were awarded for construction, technology, specialized equipment, educational materials and for children's health and well-being.  We salute these twenty-one charities committed to improving the lives of the children of San Antonio.

ANY BABY CAN

Mission Statement: To serve families of children and youth facing serious health or developmental challenges.

Project: Any Baby Can "Tool Kits" to facilitate learning and care for children on the autism spectrum and their families.

Mission Statement: A Christ-centered ministry that provides a safe environment where women are empowered to make informed decisions regarding sexual health and unplanned pregnancy.

Project: Pilot program - Stop the Traffic to meet emotional consequences of those who have been sexually abused.

 

 

AUGUST HEART

Mission Statement: To provide free heart screenings to teenagers to identify selected heart abnormalities in an effort to reduce the risk of sudden cardiac death.

Project: Screen your Teen, which provides heart screening for area teens.

Mission Statement: To inspire the creative genius in us all by nurturing artists through innovative contemporary art.

Project:  Creative Youth Development Programs, specifically the mosaic program, and equipment to be used for artistic expression by youth.

Mission Statement: To provide family and community education and developmental services to children with disabilities or delays empowering them to achieve their individual potential making them successful in any community.

Project: Early Childhood Education Furnishings for four pre-school classrooms.

 

THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF SAN ANTONIO FOUNDATION

Mission Statement: To support the healing ministry of The Children's Hospital of San Antonio, the only faith-based non-profit children's hospital in San Antonio.

Project: Four ventilators for Pediatric Critical Care.

Project: STEM Programs Expansion and Sensory Classroom equipment.

 

DOWN SYNDROME ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH TEXAS

Mission Statement: To become a sustainable organization that is known in San Antonio and South Texas as the primary source of support for making lives of children and adults with Down syndrome and their families better through education, programs and friendship.

Project:  Building enhancements, furniture and equipment for new space.

 

 

ELLA AUSTIN COMMUNITY CENTER

Mission Statement: To empower individuals and families across the life span by providing mutiple, integrated services that meet the needs of San Antonio's Eastside neighborhoods and beyond.

Project: Outdoor Educational Learning Center for after-school and summer youth programs, grades K-8.

Mission Statement:  To break the cycle of violence and to strengthen families by providing the necessary tools for self-sufficiency through delivery of emergency shelter, transitional housing, education, effective parenting education, and specialized intervention with youth and the elderly.

Project: Recreation and Play for Child Victims of Domestic Violence.

 

 

HAVEN FOR HOPE

Mission Statement: To offer the place of hope and new beginnings.  We do this by providing, coordinating and delivering an efficient system of care for people experiencing homelessness in Bexar County.

Project: Haven for Hope Teen Room, to provide a safe, constructive, appealing space for young people to gather on the Haven campus.

Mission Statement: Provides unique experiences through physical and creative activities in a supportive environment for children with special needs who might otherwise be excluded.

 

Project: Sports Programs for Children with Special Needs and technology needed to support programming.

NORTHSIDE EDUCATION FOUNDATION

Mission Statement:  To foster community involvement in innovative educational programs by generating and disbursing funds and other resources to provide enrichment for students of the Northside Independent School District (NISD) in San Antonio, Texas.

Project: Reddix Harmony Garden to provide outdoor stimulation for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Project:  Farm Fresh Friday Program to provide fresh produce to at risk children on weekends.

 Project: Seton Home Residential Renovation to provide safe flooring and new cribs.

Mission Statement: Promotes early identification, intervention and a listening and spoken language education so that children with hearing loss can develop to their maximum potential.  We serve any child who can benefit from our services without regard to their ability to pay.

Project: BAHA Loaners for hearing impaired children.

Mission Statement: Support the community mission of University Health System through projects and programs that bring health and healing to San Antonio and Bexar County.
